Things that annoy me (although they probably shouldn’t)

Published by mgriffin at 9:34 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Do you ever find yourself feeling extremely annoyed and unnecessarily agitated? Well, I do. In fact, I often have to laugh at just how easily I am annoyed. It’s one of those quirky little characteristics that make me who I am, though. I had a day last week where I was annoyed by almost every little thing that happened, and I couldn’t help but make light of it and share some of my annoyances with you. So, here goes-a list of things that annoy me…that really shouldn’t.  When people lather up their hands with soap and start scrubbing, well before they put their hands under the water. Seriously, people. Does anyone else not find this highly irritating, bordering on totally weird? It’s like pouring milk into your bowl before the cereal or introducing yourself last name first. Bottom line, it’s weird (and annoying). When people use the restroom stall right next to the one I’m occupying, when there are 5 empty ones available! It seriously feels like the person is in the stall with me, and they may as well be for as close as it seems. It should be an unspoken bathroom rule to always occupy every other stall, unless you have no other choice. Enough said. Elevator small talk. Let’s be honest, I really don’t want to hear what you have to say, and the only reason you are talking to me is to fill the 30 second deafening void of silence until the doors open and you are free to go about your day. So, please just skip the mindless small talk and stare down at the ground like everyone else! Holding the door open when I will clearly have sprint 500 yards just to receive your kind gesture! I’m perfectly capable of opening the door myself and not get winded while doing it. I appreciate the polite intentions, but if I have to make an effort just to make it there on time to welcome this gesture, I am going to end up more annoyed than if I had to open the door all on my own. Thanks, but no thanks eager door-openers! :)Leaving your blinker on after changing lanes in traffic and just chilling with it on for several miles down the road. Do these people not hear the incessant clicking of the blinker, prompting them to turn it off? Is there really such a thing as being that lazy and delightfully unaware of your surroundings? I am sure I will think of more grievances as I push through my work week-after all, it is only Monday!!
